Day 1: Sandakan – Sepilok – Sukau Rainforest Lodge (By Boat)
Our adventure begins as we pick you up from the Sandakan Airport or your hotel in Sandakan, then we’ll head straight to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. There, you’ll get to learn about the rehabilitation effort done at the centre through a short video screening. Make your way to the feeding platform to witness the feeding of orangutans and other monkeys around. You can also spend time observing the cheeky little younglings in an enclosed nursery area.
After lunch, embark on a 2.5 hour journey by speedboat up the Kinabatangan River to Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
Right after checking-in, go on board for a late afternoon cruise in search of Borneo’s wildlife and birds. Return to the lodge to savor a scrumptious dinner at Melapi restaurant, followed by a slide presentation and interpretation by a naturalist guide.

Day 2: Sukau Rainforest Lodge
Rise and shine for the morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, join in the nature walk along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with the in-house naturalist. After lunch, it will be free at leisure. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife.

Day 3: Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Lahad Datu – Danum Valey Field Center
Another early morning is in store as we prepare to journey to Lahad Datu. After breakfast, proceed 2 hours overland to Lahad Datu before our onward journey to Danum Valley Conservation Area (DVCA) via 4WD or coach. Arrival and registration at DVCA Reception & Information Building, followed by a tour of the Exhibition Gallery. After lunch, take a walk along the 500m self-guided nature trail and get to know the rainforest, marvel at its beauty and experience the pristine ambience of the rainforest as has been for hundreds of years. After dinner, proceed enjoy the night drive to observe nocturnal wildlife OR video show on Danum Valley (If weather permits).

Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC)
Day 4: Danum Valley Field Centre
Rise in the morning for an early walk to enjoy the company of nature. After breakfast, trek through the ancient rainforest of Danum Valley, begin a trek to Rhino Pool for 4 hours of full loop trekking and marvel at its rich flora and fauna. Return to DVFC and rest.
Next, we will continue our 1.7KM trekking activity at 3pm to Old Burial Site/Coffin Trail. It will take an approximately 2 hours return trip trek journey. After dinner, proceed to Night Walk in search of Borneo’s nocturnal animals (If weather permits).

Day 5: Danum Valley Field Centre – Transfer out
Leave for Bukit Atur and be one of the first to greet the first ray of the sun as it touches the valley. Return to DVFC. After breakfast, depart for a 2.5 hours journey back to Lahad Datu Town/Airport.
