Day 1: Kota Kinabalu - Night Market

Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to your hotel. We will pick you up in the evening for a city tour. Then, visit the night market to check out the wide array of local spices, souvenirs, fruits and vegetables. Proceed to a restaurant for dinner before we return to your hotel.

Day 2: Tunku Abdul Rahman Park

Spend a day of sun, sea and sand on an offshore coral island. Transfer to jetty for a 30-minute boat ride to one of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park islands for a day of relaxation on your own. Remark: Scheduled boat transfer depart to the island is at 0815HRS. Guest must arrive at Marina Jetty latest by 0800HRS. Proceed with another boat transfer to your next island visit. Snorkel in crystal clear water among coral reefs and rainbow-coloured fishes. Back to the boat and depart to Gaya Island for lunch before venturing for a swim or simply lazing away. Depart back to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 3: Kota Kinabalu - Kinabalu Park - Kota Kinabalu

Drive 2 hours overland to the foothills of mighty Mt. Kinabalu at 1500m and take a quick stop at Pekan Nabalu market to savour local fruits in season. Visit the Education Centre and Botanical Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails in the cool surrounding to explore the montane forest. Return to Kota Kinabalu to get a good night’s rest.

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Selingan Island

Transfer to Kota Kinabalu airport for morning flight (40 minutes) to Sandakan and arrive before 0800 hours. On arrival, transfer to jetty for 1-hour boat ride to Selingan Island. Enjoy leisure to explore island, swim and snorkel. After dinner, wait for signal from the Park Ranger before proceeding to watch Green Turtle lay eggs on the beach, transplanting of eggs to hatchery and release of baby turtles to the sea.

Day 5: Selingan Island - Sepilok - Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Return to Sandakan and head to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre There, you'll get to learn about the rehabilitation effort done at the centre through a short video screening. Make your way to the feeding platform to witness the feeding of orangutans and other monkeys around. You can also spend time observing the cheeky little younglings in an enclosed nursery area. After lunch, embark on a 2.5 hour boat journey to Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Right after checking-in, go on board for a late afternoon cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds. Return to the lodge to savor a scrumptious dinner at Melapi restaurant, followed by a slide presentation and interpretation by a naturalist guide.

Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Day 6: Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Rise and shine for the morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, join in the nature walk along the lodge's Hornbill Boardwalk with the in-house naturalist. It will be free at leisure after lunch. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise to check off your wildlife sightings.

Day 7: Sukau Rainforest Lodge - Sandakan - Transfer out (by boat)

Selingan Weather Condition

Note: (November-February) Please be advised that our trip to Selingan Island involves boat journey via Sulu Sea. In the event of inclement weather condition during or before the boat journey, the company will have the absolute discretion to cancel or postpone the trip if it is deemed that the journey will jeopardize the safety of our passengers. In the event of cancellation, a replacement tour will be offered. The company will not be liable for any compensation.

Camera Fee at SOURC

Note on Camera Use at Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre: For any camera with zoom lens from 100 to 400mm, video camera or other video recording equipment for personal use are chargeable at RM10.00 per unit. For any camera (fixed-lens - 400mm and above ) or any film-making equipment are chargeable at RM1,000.00 per unit. Mode of payment is cash only.
