Our adventure begins as we pick you up from Kota Kinabalu Airport or the hotel you’re staying in Kota Kinabalu town, and then we will depart to the Tambunan area for your first birding journey in Borneo. Later in the afternoon we will make our way to the foothills of the majestic Mt. Kinabalu. It will take a 1-hour drive from Tambunan to Kundasang. Upon arrival, we will proceed with check-in and stay the night in the Kundasang area.

Gear up early in the morning as we will spend a full day of exciting bird watching around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinabalu Park which are home to unique species of birds in Borneo. Experienced guides will bring you to explore the various trails and avoid the crowds. After a fun long day of birding, we will head back to the hotel to rest.

Another full day to spend around Kinabalu Park for your birding adventure. Experienced guides will bring you to explore different trails in hoping for more species of birds sightings and avoid the crowds. Spend another night at the Kundasang area after full exciting day of birding.

Last day and last chance to explore the birds and wildlife at the Kinabalu Park! Spend your final night here at Kundasang before moving on to our next location tomorrow.

Rise and shine as we begin our journey early to Poring for bird watching in that area. Then we will start our drive to Sepilok that will approximately take 4 hours to the east coast. After settling in at Sepilok, there will be a night walk in the evening at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) in hoping to witness nocturnal wildlife.

A new day to enjoy a full day with bird watching in the Rainforest Discovery Centre as our experienced guide will help you along the way. Relax and be at ease as we will spend the night at Sepilok Nature Resort.

An early bird watching in the morning. Then, we will have our lunch before transferring to Sandakan jetty for 2.5 hours boat journey to the multi-award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, the Kinabatangan river which is coined as the Amazon of Malaysia. Along this river journey, you will have the opportunity to have your first view of birds and wildlife there.

After settling in at the lodge, there will be an afternoon cruise for your first bird-watching adventure at Sukau Rainforest Lodge. After dinner, proceed for a night river cruise to get up close and observe sleeping birds nesting on the lower branches for a great photo opportunity.

A new day at Sukau Rainforest lodge and there’s so much to explore! Gear up for morning and afternoon river cruises for your bird-watching adventure. Take this chance to witness the Borneo Big 5, the Proboscis Monkey, the Pygmy Elephant, Orang Utan, Crocodiles and the stunning Rhinoceros Hornbill. After dinner, proceed for another night cruise to witness the wildlife in the dark.

After breakfast, proceed 2.5 hours overland to Lahad Datu before traveling another 1.5 hours drive on a gravel road to Tabin Wildlife Reserve another haven for bird watching enthusiasts which boasts approximately 220 species of birds.

Spend an exciting full-day bird watching at Tabin which is home to more than 100 species of birds. Tabin Wildlife Resort surrounded by the lush jungle which is great to spot for birds.

Check out early and proceed 1.5 hours drive back to Lahad Datu where we'll stopover for registration. Then continue to drive 83km to Borneo Rainforest Lodge which is surrounded by pristine virgin rainforests. Continue your bird-watching escapade. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded in Danum Valley.
